PARKTOWN BOYS' SUPPORT
Since Mathew's first diagnosis in May 2013, Parktown Boys' High School
has supported him in various ways:-

Project |01
SHAVATHON
Project |01 SHAVATHON

In May 2013, a Shavathon Project was initiated by the 2013 senior boys, under the leadership of Head Boy, UK Mabandla. Scholars, teachers and coaches - all surrendered their hair to the cause, raising R24 000 in a few hours.
Bravely, two female teachers, Eureka Fourie and Tara Jones, also shaved their locks!
In the words of the then-Parktown Boys Head Master, Mr Niemand:
"This was done in solidarity with Matthew."

Project |02
Heart of
the Lion
Project |02 Heart of the Lion

Led by Eureka Fourie, additional fund-raising has been done by the Parktown Boys' Heart of the Lion, a worthy cause which serves deserving community projects.

Project |03
Blood
Donation
Project |03 Blood Donation

Parktown Boys held a drive to encourage donation of blood with the specific focus on platelet donation.
A small portion of blood is drawn from your arm and passed through a sophisticated cell-separating machine that collects the platelets. After the donation, you can resume your normal activities, avoiding heavy lifting or strenuous exercise that day.

Project |04
Lifting Spirits
Project |04 Lifting Spirits

Scholars paid regular visits to Matthew - helping to uplift his spirits.
